New owner first daunting task/need

Hi all!
I picked up a 92 HR IMPERIAL and when bringing her home, drained the battery in two minutes at the fuel pump simply by forgetting to shut off headlights, lol!
So in figuring it best to replace said item, I find it in the nuttiest, nearly inaccessible location possible (especially for someone suffering with a fused neck and other upper back issues/constant pain).
Can anyone suggest the best way to change it out?
Also, only the rpm gauge worked within the cluster of speedo, fuel and rpm gauges but changing the fuse changed nothing. Fuse swapping also did nothing for lighter, radio, back up cam, TV, etc. Am I into far more problems than I deserved? Lol!
Thanks!

Along with the batteries make sure you read up on the charging as well. You have two different systems to learn about. You have "house" and "chassis" batteries. The alternator should charge one or both when driving and the converter should charge at least the house batteries when plugged into shore power. Read up.

p.s. My first suggestion is to get a quality battery meter/shunt first to help out.

Often bad grounds can cause problems. It's funny how often reseating connectors fixes problems. Sometimes there is a short that you'll have to find or maybe even a bad part. It's all very difficult or maybe even impossible without the schematics.

Good luck!

Brakes and the whole system would be the single most important thing outside of the engine running properly and good tires.
