No gauges, 1993 34' Freightliner Oshkosh

Chasing a "no gauges" issue.

Other threads point to a faulty "VDC" but I can't find one. Scoured the engine bay, battery and fuse compartments, etc.

Also pulled the dash, tried an artificial ground to the gauge pack, checked connectors, etc.

Scratching my head...any thoughts?

Welcome to iRV2.

Sorry your first post is about problems .

The VDC ( Vehicle Data Computer ) dash gauge package was; to the best of my knowledge only used from 1999 to 2003 ; so, I'm sure you don't have one .

Earliest wiring schematic I have is for a 1996 F/L with Caterpillar . PDF below .

Freightliner is phasing out support for our older chassis , but phoning the help line with your serial number , MIGHT get some info .

Well, that would explain why I couldn't find one.

I did call butthey didn't have much to offer.

Guess I'll keep digging.

Thanks for the help.

Cheers,
JP

OK you tried adding an additional ground. How about finding where power comes from to the gauges? Did you remove all the dash panels searching? The reason Im asking that is because our older MH was worked on by chuckleheads. (prior to us owning it) They knew enough to half a$$ fix things, maybe! We have had all kinds of strange electrical problems including no dash lights or gauges. I added a new power line off the fuse block using a spare fuse holder. I did spend time searching the proper fix, but at some point it just makes sense to add a power line. Also worth mentioning, I had a wiring harness that had a bunch of green crap all over the terminals. Replaced it. Wiring issues on these MH's can be a bear to trace!
