If no 240v appliances to power, 120/240v not needed.

This is actually much simpler that is being admitted here. If you go to https://onan.xmsi.net/965-0120%20Ona...0(02-1976).pdf and download the manual, the instructions are there to describe how to strap the output for either 120-120 or 240 VAC.
It is not that hard.
