Owner 1988 Monaco 36' Crown Royale looking to upgrade to a Signature
Hello everyone...
We're new to the forum but have owned our rig for two years, however, with the exception of some of the appliance manuals for the air conditioners and furnaces, no specific owner manual for the coach itself or the Cummins 5.9 liter, 230hp turbo-diesel motor.
Would anyone happen to have available an owner's manual that would describe the specifications, such as grey and black holding tank capacities, fresh water capacities, and the like?
This is our first RV, and it only had 49,000 miles on it when we bought it in 2009 for $26,000. We thought it was a delightful bargain, considering it's a diesel pusher with Alcoa 22.5 polished aluminum wheels, with two 'Stor-Mor' cargo containers on top, a new Carrier rear air conditioner, and an interior that looks brand new (golden solid oak!), and also considering this rig was over $170,000 when it was brand new!
We're been living full-time in the rig and after two-years of 'getting acquainted,' we've kinda been looking at moving up the food chain by 10-years to a more spacious, more modern 'condo'... especially since the NW winters and non-insulated holding tanks create a not so good situation when it gets cold.
We're pretty much hooked on Monaco because of the quality we've experienced in this '88 model and have been looking at a 1998 Monaco Signature. But, the one we've spotted, although very nice in every respect with about 89,000 miles, it was exposed to some freezing weather without anyone living in it and without being winterized, so there's some unknown damage... like the water filters having 'exploded' in the basement bay... and there may be other hidden damage we're not aware of yet, as the coach hasn't been pressurized since the damage occurred.
So, we're in a little bit of a conundrun. The Signature we're looking at is a 42' model with the M-11, 450hp Cummins and the owner is asking $98K for it, but that seems high considering the economy and the damage aspects, and the sale is without warranty, which doesn't instill confidence.
Anyone have some ideas on how to approach the Signature??
Thanks everyone!
John
