PilgrimII,
WOW that is a good find! You have a rare bird there for sure! The Lifetime Motorhome factory was 4 miles from my doorstep. Winnebago Industries bought them out in the early 80s if I'm not mistaken. The buildings are still in use to this day.....after Lifetime moved out, it was home to a machine shop/welding/fabrication business for many years. Recently the machine shop moved to a new location, and it is now home to an electric motor repair facility.
I'm very interested in following your progress with restoration. If you end up dedicating a separate thread to your project, please let us know here in this thread so I don't miss out.
Best luck with it, it's a very cool motorhome!!

Put a sexy sounding muffler on it!
Good Luck!

Thanks John, My problem is that I need a 13" inch drum with a 2.5" shoe width. Those drum links you sent were 12" x 3" which happened on Dodge M300's beginning in 1972. Your effort to help me very much appreciated. Safe journeys wherever you go. Steve

Responding to Music CMB, the problem with the drums are not about scoring, which a lathe can fix, the unfortunate problem is one of rivet gouges that are to deep for any lathe to get rid of them and be left with allowable thickness of the drum. Thanks much for your input.

Steve
Ask the lathe operator to take one light pass only and leave the one groove. Brake pads will wear a bit faster, but in the grand scheme of things, your Rv will be on the road. You can also explore spray metal build up of the grooved area prior to machining.

Spray welding is a very specialised process, so you may have to find a machine shop that can do it.

Also, the fact you are working with cast iron, not steel might be a problem, but if they do spray welding, they will know if it will stick.
