Get the carb rebuilt while you can. The power valve have a tendency to stick and the floats can get saturated. After I had mine rebuilt and recurving the distributer it was amazing how well it ran and I gained a mile or two in fuel economy.

I pulled it yesterday afternoon, he said it would be back in a few days. He will put adjusting screws up front where there should have been but, he thinks 4 turns out by him wont need adjustment. I didn't realize at first that he is my stepson's ex father in law and, he used to build race cars, oval and quarter mile. He's a quadrajet fan, he says people give them a bad rap because they don't understand how to make them work properly. I surely don't know about that stuff but, 125.00 for a rebuild from someone that has a good reputation, I'll take.

Here is where I took my distributor. Back when it was done the cost was a $125.00 including shipping. I was just looking to get it recurved when I got it back he completely rebuilt and recurved it. It looked like brand new.

wow, that reminds me of my very first full time job at a place called McMullins Mobil gas and service station in Markham, IL.. They had those kinds of equipment all over in the bays, it was all Sun equipment, surprised anyone has those anymore. Thanks for the link, I read an article stating that these old coaches were tuned for emissions more than fuel economy or power, imagine that BTW I don't see anything on his site about re working distributors, just working on or selling the Sun Machines
