Relocating power converter

Got my new Progressive Dynamics 9260 converter, and am still concerned with putting it in the old location. The manual says to put it in a dry location, and I don't think the engine bay is very dry when it rains!
My old tv was replaced with a flat-screen tv, and there is an empty compartment behind it. I was thinking of sticking it there, but I'm afraid I'd get electrical interference on my tv. Thoughts, O Wise Ones?

I doubt it but plug it in using an extension cord and put it behind the TV and make sure. Without the output terminals connected to a battery the current will be non-existent.
