Roof Vent Cover Damage

Ann and I arrived at our site in Mercedes, TX and in backing into the site, damaged roof vent and air conditioning covers. Are they difficult to obtain and replace? Thank you in advance

Most RV service centers have them.

Make sure your replacement kits have caulk and or sticky tape. It’s not a big thing but take your time and clean off the old stuff and then take care installing the new.

Getting parts

I have had very good luck with PPL MotorHomes in Texas. Take off your vent cover and AC cover before calling for parts.

I damaged one my air conditioner covers....took it off and taped it back together on the inside. I have painted all my covers to match the coach so it was no problem to fix it. It's on top of the rig so you can't see it anyways.

When you replace the cover, or fix it, I recommend putting a rubber washer where the screws attach to hold it in place. Mine were cracked around that hole as it's thin plastic.

The covers for the air conditioner are about $120.

I have also replaced a couple vent covers after a tornado went through our RV park one night. Fairly easy to replace after you get the right size.

You won't hit anything with those again...trust me.
