Rv generator wiring.

Hey people the saga continues, I have been trying to resurrect my moms ole 96 bounder 34' gm chassis. To make a long story short the rv never had a generator in it since we got it. I ordered a rvmp 5500i dual power gen. Last November and finally got it a few weeks ago. After reengineering the mounting system I finally got it installed. Fired it up did the initial breakin, but when I turned on the breakers I had no ac power inside. After much wire chasing I found out that the big electrical panel over the table which house all the ac breakers, a lot of 12v fuses, and in the back of it circuit breakers to switch from shore power to generator, has some melted components inside above the breakers. Without removing tons of wiring, breakers, circuit boards ,fuse panels etc. I see no way to get inside the back where the breakers are to try a repair. Is the big panel assembly available and what is the correct name of the thing? Thanks in advance for any info. More Fun

Sounds like a converter. I20vac in, breakers for the AC circuits.

Also converts the 120vac to 12vdc to charge the batteries and run the 12vdv house circuits.

A picture would help.

I would expect 1) POWER DISTRIBUTON CENTER (120-VAC Breakers AND 12-VDC FUSES SECTIONS); 2) CONVERTER/CHARGER=120VAC INPUT w/ 12-DC OUTPUT AND 3) May/may not have old TRANSFER SWITCH if old GEN was ever removed? With GEN added, you have options of ATS (Auto Transfer Switch), or RECEPTACLE (to plug in RV into GEN)... but yeah, PICS wud help? If you have multi batteries, possibly an INVERTER? Good Luck

The bottom picture looks like a transfer switch. If it is it is what is supposed to drop shore power and transfer to generator.

In the first picture it looks like wiring was added. The neutrals that are fried aren't clamped through the side of the box, they don't look like the same gauge. That needs investigation.

The last picture is a relay but without a better picture it's hard to tell if it's an ATS or battery disconnect, the contacts aren't visible.
