Saw this oldie but goodie recently in Flint, MI

Saw this BlueBird MH from 1980 in Flint. It is a diesel and looks all original on the inside. Someone took good care of this one, what a beauty!

I couldn't believe the inside on this one, it is all original and ugly! You can tell though that whoever had it took care of it. 105,000 miles on it. Figured someone here might be interested. The radio was like a foot and a half long and the stove ad fridge were original still. Can't believe the patterns on the material and colors was ever popular but I bet this was first class when new.

Are there still 3 people in Flint that could afford that? I think it's awesome!

( Said slightly tonque in cheek. I was born and raised in Flint. Both my dad and father in law retired from GM. )

Yeah, Flint has been hit pretty hard the last 8 years. This RV sales place, small and used only, seems to sell a lot of RVs because they have a lot of change over. I have seen two so far that I would have bought but keep telling myself I need to wait until summer of 2015 before I buy. Could very well be from this place though. We'll see in the summer They have 15 right now including this old one and they seem to sell often.

I cruise by Atkins RV website now and again, their prices just seem fair...

That Bluebird is in GREAT shape!

For some fun reading check out the owner's manual.

This one has the original owner's with it. How often does that happen?

I agree that the price s a bit overboard. I wonder if they think because it is original it is worth more. I think most people want a bit of room and they need slides. Just thought it was a hoot considering how i

Take a new rig and this old rig and then in 30 years compare the two of them. The problem will be that the new one will be scrapped because of all the problems. That old unit is solid and will probably withstand a nuclear attack. New ones will explode and the slides will launch into the next county.
I prefer solid and dependable, not flimsy and prone to breakdown. Quality of new RV's is substandard and not rising. Just look at the lines in Alaska and Canada with people waiting to have their slides adjusted, put back in, or suspensions needing repair because they can't handle the roads.
That old baby would motor through like Mad Max!

I agree 09 Harley. They just seem to want fancy and expensive now. Went to a recent RV show, and keep in mind my DH and I just started looking, and some of those rigs were way to fancy for me. I can appreciate nice, but this is still camping (at least to me). I love the outdoors and camp fires and cooking over the camp fire. Walking in the woods and that old camping mentality.

Not saying I don't want the nice inside too but mirrors in the ceiling and white leather? Not for me. When we buy it will be around a 2000 or older if we find the right rig. I don't need all the pretty if it runs well and doesn't fall apart going down the road.
