Size of staples

As I am tearing apart, (more like it is falling apart), I have staples in the siding that are an inch long. Locally I cant find any this long or a staple gun to drive them. Do they need to be this long? Or can I use 3/4" staples which I can find?

They're 18 gauge pneumatically driven staples, You need a 18 gauge staple/brad gun and an air compressor to do those. Check over where they keep the nail loads for air guns and you should find the staples.
