Still Battling Gremlins!

I decided yesterday to move Miss Kitty closer to the edge of my driveway before tearing her down to replace her blown head gasket. Unplugged the shoreline from the coach, got her re-positioned & reconnected, hit the AC switches and the rear air would not come on. No power! Unplugged the shoreline & found one terminal was burned, so I replaced the plug. Still nothing! I pulled the socket out of the box, loosened the ground wire, and the whole plug came off in my hand! NONE of the other wires were tight! One terminal was burned, but the rest were unharmed, so to get by until I get a replacement I cleaned the burned one, re-attached everything & plugged her back up & everything lit up! Now I know why my AC 'low power' light sometimes came on. No telling how long that plug has been loose!

Good to hear you found the issue Rick! It sounds like the spider monkeys need to go to war against the Gremlins.[emoji38]

Country Coach screwed up for once. They left enough slack in the wires to actually pull the plug out far enough to fix it! Now if getting the head off that big Cat motor was that easy...........

I can fix a lot of stuff, but washers take a special kind of skill I don't have!

I put a lid switch in mine a few years ago. Got it working again. This time I think it was the timer. 100 bucks for a timer. Hell no. I aint paying that.

Don't blame you. It seems like once something goes wrong everything starts breaking. Planned obsolescence! The best washer we ever had was a plain old Roper. No multi wash cycles, no computer gizmos, and when something went wrong I could usually fix it with a screwdriver, pliers & some duct tape! It finally busted a transmission gear & we couldn't find parts to fix it.

Had a GE washer where 2 of the contact points in the timer would stick. Open top, unstick points, away we go. Got to where I could do it in 10 minutes or less...(wandering off RV topic, sorry)

My Dad was an Aircraft Mechanic in the Air Force. (CMSGT Veteran of 3 Wars)
And when he retired he went to work for Sears as a Washer Dryer Tech just to stay busy.
So, over the years I got to learn all about keeping my Washer and Dryers working correctly.
He could tell me over the phone, step by step how to diagnose and repair them.
He was an amazing humble guy.
I've always been a DIY guy, so there's nothing mechanical that's sacred in my world.

I figured out early in life that if I bought the right tools needed to fix a problem the first time, i'd have the right tools to fix it if it ever needed fixing again.
SO my tool box is 3000 sq ft and full of tools!

Something satisfying about being able to thumb your nose at the thought of paying someone else to fix it.
No thanks, I got this!

I'm also a DIY guy. My Dad was a mechanic, and I learned early about taking stuff apart. Then I married the farmer's daughter, and there's always something here to work on. When my old Elgin pocket watch quit & I couldn't find anyone to fix it I got a book, bought an old watch to practice on, and at last count we have over a hundred in our collection. Now, if I can only get up the energy to tackle the blown head gasket on Miss Kitty's motor.......
