My guess is it will work though.

It might depend on the inside unit (if they even have one on those????) but the same brand might use the same unit interior with a more powerful roof unit.
The roof hole is the same so is not an issue.

Maybe youtube has a video of someone doing it ?

After looking at it over and over, I think American Coach custom made the inside box and duct work. I have ordered just the A/C unit and there should be a Youtube video within the month.

Glenn,

We had a 11,000 BTU unit and upgraded to a 13,500 BTU unit. We have central ducts all along our ceiling throughout the rig but if you are replacing the unit I would think the seller should be able to tell you if the new one will work. I believe they come in ducted and non-ducted units. Jerry cross referenced the old unit numbers with his search and it gave him a choice of units that would work.

We bought the new unit from PPL Motorhomes because it was the best price even with shipping.

Like I said, we were surprised at how fast it worked. They disconnected two connections, took the old one out, new one in, re-hook connections and away it went.

As far as going with a bigger BTU unit. We also have 30 amps. Our new a/c is a power saver unit and uses 11.5 amps to run. The second a/c unit in the bedroom still will freeze you out so we left it. It uses 11 amps when running. If we need both units we will have to be careful but it is what it is.

Hope this helps a bit. Lynne

Glenn, my Monaco looks the same as yours when you pull the cover down and look up! Ours has a filter under the grate, which is the return air duct. If you get the same manufacturer it should be a plug and play! I have found out with the Dometic, that the new one need a different thermostat or you have to put your old control board in the new unit! Then you don't have to change the thermostat!
Changing from 13500 to 15000 BTU should not matter, because the new units are more efficient!
Good luck, we will all be watching to see how it goes! Rail!

We will see, but at this point with no A/C unit I believe it will be plug and play.

Terry,
Looks like you got Old Girl just about up to snuff and are ready to rock and roll. Hope your ribs are getting better.

Hi Frank, this is the last big project, once it's done there's a few more things that we want to do, load up and try it out! Hopefully BEFORE we drive 1700 miles!!!
