Gordon, that's good for sure! We had 47* this morning so it's thinking about it, we have way too many projects going all at once, I lost a good month with not being able to move, and just doing small projects, but the big stuff still needs to be done, winter needs to be cancelled! LOL

Popeye, maybe if we both tear out the winter months off the calendar it'll work ......... here in upstate you can tell we've turned the corner on summer, while we'll get nice weather yet cool mornings and dark early tells me we have to get ready, years ago this was the time of year we'd throw in the cellar the wood that was seasoned outside, then we switched to a pellet stove, now we are switching one last time to a coal furnace, still need to install it along with all the ductwork, but all I need to do is get the furnace in the cellar, one of my good friends who taught me a lot about heating and plumbing in my younger years is doing the deed.

Coal furnice

My heating and AC contractor has a coal furnice in his house. Our 1910 house used to have a coal furnice. Funny how things come around to a full circle.

I cancelled the page removal,,,,,,,,recalculating new plan....
(I'd have to look at October's picture all winter!)

You'll probably have to crack open the windows in February

Growing up at grandma's which was next door to the coal yard , I remember my grandmother really hated it when I went climbing in the "Black Mountains" ! I always had to take a bath and left a big ring behind
No Rail , not like the Hobbits...

Finally a break from the heat last week.
My entire back wall and ~7 feet of the side wall are solid again , courtesy of a bunch of 2x(2+3s) and several tubes of adhesive $7 a tube x8? , + deck screws (@ $10/# )..
Both windows and the door also reframed as of this afternoon..
And there is a new wall behind the cab that just needs a door and covering.

Roof luggage rack firmly attached to new framing,,,(solar panels mounted to it , so pretty good idea) ! + about a pint of sealer all around., and yes ! it's raining......

I've been practicing up on martial arts busting up all the demo debris into trash bags and putting it out on the curb 2 bags a week too

Next up insulating , including building out the walls to include extra ! Then covering (FRP or PMF or 1/4" luan ) and I can finally get back to the cabinets etc...Ya know , the easy stuff !
For the building challenged
FRP=fiberglass reinforced plastic
PMF= Poor Man's Fiberglass (google it)
1/4" luan= plywood

SURE I can get that done along with I still haven't de-rusted my leafs and just noticed I need to find where tranny fluid is leaking from and did I mention my inspection sticker is due this month ???? maybe.....
I think I'll leave the shocks in the boxes for now.....

Boy ! am I sore !!!! hmmmmmm , maybe I'll re-do the cab over........next year !!

Popeye, the transmission leaking when it is not running is pretty simple to fix! Just start it once a week or so, and let all the fluid back into the torque converter! What happens is the fluid from the torque converter, when it has not run for a long time seeps past the valve and it over fills the transmission, and leaks out! So by starting the motor, and that spins the torque converter, creating pressure, which makes the transmission work, and keeps most of the fluid in the torque converter! It's supposed to stay in the TC, (the fluid), but as your MH ages, it leaks past the valve! Hope this helps! Rail!

Good morning all!

Just thought I would share this over here on Terry's more technical page. Our old coach had a hardwire surge protector, it sold with the coach. The new to us coach did not have one, and I have not gotten around to addressing that problem.

So I ordered a Hughes Autoformer (brand) 50amp surge protector for our coach. It is due here today. Best deal I found was Amazon.

A few interesting details on this unit. It seems to have all the features of a Progessive or other brands, does diagnoses of power before turn on to coach, open nuetrals, low power, shuts down and protects if a problem is detected during operation, of course surge protection etc etc..

What's new is...........................

It is Blue tooth. Can add a appl to your smartphone or tablet etc.. And the appl shows power analysis for each leg, moment by moment. It also alerts the application if a problem is detected, and tells why power is at risk, or disconnected.

Secondly, the surge protecting component of the unit is replaceable by the owner. If out of warrantee, surge protection component is available for $32. And easily replaced by the owner.

I went with the non-hard wired unit. It was a little more expensive, however easier to bypass should it fail.

Will keep you all informed once I have it in hand and use it some!

L.
