Looks great Terry!

It really cooled off here a lot, in the 60's this morning. Won't be long and you will be using that.

We have had our furnace on for a couple weeks!

Working on the coach yesterday and it started a brief shower. The sound on the roof was a bit more metallic than one would expect so I went out to see what was happening. Ice pellets mixed with the rain (sleet?). One could call it mini hail I suppose.

Covered the watermelon for the last two nights. Supposed to be much nicer for the next 10 days or so.

Thanks! Gordon, we've had some unusual warm and muggy weather for a few days but it'll cool soon enough! Working back on the exterior of the house, rebuilding the last section, then will move to the next project

Soon enough sure was quick this year......

I can't find anyplace to put the heater away from combustibles , except where I'm trying to work and that's too close too.
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I might have to say good enough and put things back where they were.

Popeye, you got that right! Our nights are now mostly in the 40's days high 60's. Ann, I've battled Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 30 years, it doesn't get easy for sure, the other complications that come and go just make life interesting, lately it takes me about an hour or so to get so I can move, that's how long it takes to get all the meds to start working! LOL hard to complain, my feet still hit the floor and I still do what I want, allbit slower, there are people way worse off.

Almost done with the main part of the house, one more window to rebuild, then insulate and sheath it, it'll be ready to put siding on in the spring. Solar is all hooked up in the 5th wheel Toyhauler, need to square away the wiring and tweek the controller settings but at the present time it's running the residential refrigerator in the Toyhauler. Looking good. That is where you make or break a good job. Making shure the windows are sealed and all air leaks are stopped is the key then getting a good insulation job.
You will appreciate it later in the winter.
One of the stupid things I use to hear when I first moved to the San Antonio area when questioning about the lack of insulation was"well we don't need insulation because it never gets that cold."

Terry

I'm building a lot slower than I used to also !

I put in a day then take one (or two) off.
Until some soreness eases off , then back at it till I have to sit down again.
That's ok , I'm using the plan as you go method.....So have to stop every once in a while to decide if I have to redo anything..
Almost done with outside stuff....but I still have to do most of the messy stuff out there...

Spent two days last week on rust killing and painting down under.
Need inspection sticker this month so thought it might need to be bumped up to the top of the list....
I thought I'd be all done by July

I don't fall down and I can still get up ,,,,it just hurts and takes much longer....

Looks great again Terry!

Really cool that the toy hauler is running on solar.

Our friends that visited with the Class B, had 300watts of solar on the roof. It had a fridge that was 12volt only, with a compressor, that worked very well. Solar kept the batteries charged.

Have a great day all!

When we upgraded our insulation and windows one of the biggest things we noticed was how much quieter the house became. Many times we will find a package at the front door the courier has dropped off without us hearing them come into or out of the yard.

We had the same experience as Gordon when our windows were replaced last year with Andersons. ALOT quieter. Made the mistake of not going with a high end window when we had the house built in 03.

Update on Toyhauler solar system, it's been running now for a few days and with a couple of tweeks its doing it's job, running everything batteries back to full charge by 10 am, all it really would need at this point is a larger inverter, I designed the system to be plugged into a transfer switch and run the whole rv, the next owner can do that. Working back on the last of the house remodel outside today, too windy last couple to handle 4x8 sheets of sheathing, 37* this morning tells me to get my you know what moving!
