We were testing a 27 ft Midas as to how it would handle in the snow, as we were planning a long winter trip. A motorhome does not articulate, so you have all day to correct its direction. Also when it gets out very far, the wind tends to limit how far it will go. A tractor trailer may act different because of were the weight is and its articulation.

As far as the proportioning valve, in my previous coach, it would not let any pressure flow to the rear until there was pressure in the front. If you blow a front brake line, you have no brakes at all - ask me how I know. That was the 3rd reason I took it out. (the 1st reason was the residual pressure check valve for the rear)

Dave, not sure what brake system you had that wouldn't have rear brakes if you blew a front line but that's not how a dual Reservoir master cylinder works! That's the main reason manufacturers went to that system! Also Bobtail semi's don't articulate, and will snap sideways on slippery roads fast, LOL

Not only did I experience that, but there was a tech manual that stated that as well. I thought it an odd design choice.
Not surprised a bobtail would swap ends. Nothing on the rear to catch the wind once it got sideways.

Thanks Gordon, Popeye! Well the pass side slider is done, we added a heavy grit tape where you would step up so no slip sliding away! On to the front axle!Click image for larger version

No doubt !
Hey !
Maybe you should get a go pro and start a YT channel ?

Plus you could do race nights too , and K could be the hostess

(the people in the front row even have arc flash vision)

Terry, you could always weld some expanded metal on the top, it would double as a boot cleaner! Don't know how well the adhesive will stick in the Az. heat?
Just thinking? They look good! Rail!

Rail, I thought about that, might be an option, LOL. Popeye, I have a Dewalt battery operated pressure washer! All I need is a bucket and water!
