Looking great Terry!

Like the stairs!

Retirement time will be here very soon. Very happy for both of you. Will be fun to see you both out west!

100 miles on the truck,,,, very little in the filter for the main tank, have not used the auxilary tank. On a positive, trip computer says 18.8 mpg running around town here.

Have a great day all!

Thanks Lloyd, I settled on the stairs because they put no strain on the floor section where the three step pullouts would, plus rhey are just more solid, wanted to try'em to see. Good there's no crap in the filters! That mileage is great, much better than my Duramax.

Nice.

What tool did you use to remove the old glue? I did not recognize it in the previous photos.

Hi CW, it's a surface conditioner, I tried several methods none was successful, (or easy), I've seen this used on metal and there was a very aggressive roller, so we got it to try, it took two days of off and on but it worked really good, after I got all the adhesive off I used a hand held belt sander to make sure the floor was level. Your welcome CW! Here we are figuring where the black tank drain pipe can go, we figured this a few months ago and ordered the tank, now I'm making sure to drill the hole. The rods going thru the floor are metal clothes hangers cut into 6 inch or so rods, then chuck them into a drill and carefully you can drill them into your floor to see exactly where you are. Tank is just setting there, once the hole is drilled and floor is layed I can build supporting structure around it.

Looks great!

Like your location method, great Idea.

After our "test" overland camping trip 2 weeks ago, we larned we needed to reorganize our camping stuff. Finding things was chaotic. Trip to Harbor Freight and we purchased 3 sections of the Bauer stackable tool box. One that resembles a milk crate for our groceries, one that is a sealed dry/dust free container for the kitchen utensils.pots, pans etc.. And a 3rd that is smaller and has compartments for condiments, coffee, tea, silverware, etc etc.. They are very nice quality. I think they are going to work very well!

Harbor Freight to the rescue!

Have a great day!

Thanks Lloyd! We have several of that style boxes for our tools that we use in building, we got them before HF had theirs, nice to compartmentise (is that a word? LOL), easy to load and unload. Picture is of completed hole from under, you can see why it had to be precise, going between frame rails.Click image for larger version

Doc appointment late afternoon and then a trip to HF for a house paint machine $70.00 off along with an appliance dolly. HF has upped their game on a lot of stuff and if you’re not trying to make a living with the tools they’re a good deal sometimes.

Awhile back I got their credit card because it was a large purchase and 10% off new account. We paid it off two days early but still got a stiff late charge plus horrible interest was added on. Glenda called and believe it or not one of the digital secretary options is a removal of the late charge. It took holding for a real person to get the interest charge removed. We now do as they advise and pay at least a week early.

Fall is here and absolutely wonderful for the most part. We’re deadly dry and back under a burn ban for the second time since spring. Looking forward to RonS and Pebbles visit. Peanut festival close by and we get to help with a political booth this weekend. It’s tough work but someone has to do it. Then in a couple of weeks early voting starts and we’re poll workers, $12.00 an hour to do the right thing.

50 or so years ago I had a 59 CJ5 with a built small block, Super T10 four speed, aluminum flywheel and 3800 lb pressure plate. It wasn’t worth a flip in the rocky road but man it was the cat’s meow at the dunes. My dream off road camping trailer then involved a fifties AT&T installer truck bed. I still think it would be a great start for a minimalist Jeep trailer.

Terry were you able to find 4 ply tires for the trailer? 6 plys are great against cut sidewalls but you almost need bead locks to ride soft off road.

Love the project.

Thanks Harv! Your right on HF getting much better on quality ect, fall has never been a favorite of mine, I know whats coming and never cared for winter, even as a kid, still have no idea why I came back to the northeast after getting out of the Marines, then staying. No on the 4ply tires, these are 6ply so certainly will be experimenting with pressures. Still thinking I'll put some shocks on the trailer. Well it's warmed up gotta get with it.
