Worlds largest Marine airbase here in Yuma Terry. Marines are everywhere.

They have over 90 of the new F35 planes here at the base, a bunch of Osprey and a nice selection of choppers.

Yesterday we were out in the desert and saw 2 doing maneuvers at very high speeds. Fun to watch them turn sharp!

I was told a few years ago or read in the paper there will be 99 F35 stationed in Yuma. Included is a test wing.

We were able to use the motorcycle training facility on the base through the Gold Wing Road Riders. We were just across the fence from one of the hangers being built to house the aircraft. Really impressive building.

There may be another,,,,,,, but I have seen..........

there is a very nice RV park on the Army Proving grounds about 15 miles from town. As a veteran you can stay there for almost free.

Usually once a year we climb the mountin behind it, will get you a picture.

I think the military family camp on Yuma Proving Grounds you are referring to is not for veterans like me. It is for active duty, retired, DAV, etc. Purple Heart gets you in also.

We're going to be doing a lot of boondocking, it's what we're setting up for, maybe some rv parks to fill and dump ect.

Terry our adopted son, he adopted us about twenty years ago, just had a stent installed because of 80% blocked artery. Doc said, “live a long and happy life now. Just take your meds and watch your diet.”

He told me, “I got old overnight. Never taking a pill to taking a handful every day.” The good thing is the long and happy life thing. Modernity isn’t all bad.

You’ll get thru this. My IPad does this thing where it throws up a photo from the library from the past. This morning it was of Glenda 13 years ago, a year into her retirement. We have been through some stuff since then.

I had to smile and think of y’all. You got this. Appreciate it.

BTW, the photo was of a TractorByNet get together in Sunset Texas. Ron Hall was somewhere close, still is.

Thanks Harv, it's a wake up call for sure, we have never taken life for granted as we've both had too much experience with other family members, and that's one reason that she was/is going to retire when she turned 62 instead of waiting, time waits for no one. I guess I can credit the Marines for training me in both ends of the life spectrum, how to take and how to save, I was both a 8541 and cross trained as a 68 whiskey, crazy how life goes.
