I second the ammeter being a problem. My 1984 Dodge raised roof camper van had a problem with the charging system. I would put in a couple of alternators and voltage regulators a year and sometimes a battery.


This went on for years until my nephew suggested installing a one wire alternator eliminating the factory charging system. Haven't had a problem in three years and it's driven almost daily.
