Water pump rotation

I have a 1989 454 4bbl GM engine. How do I know if I have a clockwise or counter clockwise rotation water pump? I want to carry a spare for that just in case episode.

does it have a serpentine belt (wide belt small grooves) that goes over and around the water pump or a v-belt that goes on the outside of the pully. serpentine would be reverse rotation (counter clockwise)

Visit your local auto parts store. They can look it up and find out faster and more assuredly than any of us.

Look at the fan blades. They suck air in from the front.
