Well Nuts in Aluminum Siding/Roof
What do y'all think about using well nuts (rubber expanding rivet nuts) to mount things such as baggage door catches on aluminum side skin, solar panels on aluminum roof skin, and so forth? I like well nuts because they're easy to use, self-sealing, replaceable, and shock-absorbing. If there's anything I should be aware of when using them in RV applications, please educate me. I'm still an RV noob.
I've read that they're sometimes used for tank monitor electrodes, too. My RV appears to have capacitive sensors using aluminum foil patches applied to the outsides of the tanks.
