What are these items?
Good morning. I just purchased a great “vintage” rv. Curious as to what these items are. One looks like a cigarette lighter outlet and the other is the switch to the heater. The labeled switch is obvious. What is the red switch on the left? Thanks for the feedback.

Does anything happen when you flip the switch?

You didn’t mention how old the unit is but “back in the day “ everything was powered by a cigarette lighter plug.
The switch with a red indicator light looks like the gas water heater switch. The indicator comes on when you flip the switch on then goes out when you have propane gas ignition in the water heater.

With it';s location, my guess would be that it is for either the water pump or the :LP side of the water heater

The Decora/larger switch controls a 120v heating element in your water heater. Don't turn it on with no water in the tank or the element will burn up.
The smaller switch is probably gas ignition for the water heater. If you turn it on you should hear the tick tick tick of the igniter then the gas ignite, the light should stay on when it does. The tank should be full before you do that also.

As noted above, the rocker switch with the red lens is for the propane start for the water heater. The other round socket is a 12v jack. Not sure what you'd use that for nowadays. I'm sure there are still things with a 12v plug that'd go in there though. I see lots of appliances in that aisle at truck stops.

Pictures what are they?
Make sure your propane is turned on and the water tank is full of water before you turn the switch on. That last picture looks like a cable television connection?

On the RVs that I've owned, the LP switch will light when you first turn it on, but then goes dark once the pilot is lit. If the light comes on again, it means that the pilot has gone out, and you need to try igniting it again.
