That would be a "Class C" on our side of the pond. And that appears to be roughly 1982/3 to 1986/7? Chevy van chassis. Or would that be a holden product there? As far as the actual maker of the motor home, your paperwork will tell you more than we can guess. As far as parts, most RV builders back then all used the same manufactures of parts (major parts)just like today. Most anything that fails can still be replaced with a very similar part, or updated to newer technology.

Should have an ID tag from the manufacturer somewhere. In the US, I've seen the tag in the drivers step well on some class C's. If you have the VIN number you should be able to find out the year of the chassis at any Chevy or GM dealer.

The brand name appears on the front and near the side entry door. This is too small to read in the pictures, but you can use this to see if the company still exists. Also, many RV brands have "owners clubs" that will have lots of information on the coach part. The chassis appears to be Chevrolet, and the RV appears to be somewhat upscale if the wheels are Aluminum instead of hubcaps.

If its auto parts your referring to, once you have id'd the manufacture,,,probably chev, it shouldn't be difficult to get engine parts. If you are referring to the RV...the shell and components...that might be a different story. If its an 80's model I would think for efficiency sake it might be better to replace components as needed then fix....example might be the fridge. When I had an older boat the fridge would always need repair...because it was old....finally put a new one in and no more problems. The rig looks solid though.

The brand on the front of the rig is Sportcab - it also looks like the seal around the bunk window above the driver has popped out. Leaks around the windows in older class Cs is a common problem.

The next class C I buy will not have windows on the front of the bunk and the edging will be wrapped around so the seams don't take the brunt of the elements as you are driving down the road.

If you enlarge the picture it actually says Sportcraft. Did a search for it not much, found two for sale one Ford and one Chevy on this side of the pond. They don't appear to be as nice as the one in the original post. Looked up the NADA guide only year it shows is 1986. In the search it appears Sportcraft also made boats or a company using the same name. To bad there's not much information, looks like a very nice MH.

Thanks

Hi all thanks for the replies. Nice to join a forum where you get such prompt
replies. Will post more info on the unit once it comes to hand. Have had a look thru the forum and see some nice old units still being used.
In my earlier years used to own an old pre war Bedford bus (25ft) with skirts over the wheels. Turned this into a motorhome and toured Australia for 2 years so now that Iam older and grey its time to buy a unit and hit the road again. There are quite a few vintage units from the US over here so am sort of leaning towards one of these. Does anyone have any hints on what sort of ones to stay away from and what sort of problems to look out for.
Look forward to your hints and help.

If you haven't done it yet, check the area under the window of the over cab bed. As rjf7g mentioned, it looks like the left window seal has pop out. Could be water damage under it.

More info

Original ad?

That's NOT a 1996. Headlights are wrong. 1986 as others have guessed above is more likely. And it looks much longer than 22'.

It certainly looks more like a Chevrolet than a Dodge. Superb shape for its age, whatever it is. I agree it looks a lot longer than 22'. The amount of rear overhang suggests more like 28'.

Nice looking RV! I suggest you write down manufacturer and model # of each system in you RV. You can then Google the company and see if manuals are available to download.
