Would you buy a 90s Dodge camper with past water damage?

I'm looking at one with great mileage and price. The guy said that the roof had leaked in the past, and he told me that he had a pipe burst when he didn't use a regulator and it flooded under the sink and the floor. I don't know how bad it was or how long it was like that.

What should I look out for? This happened in a high-desert, sunny region, years ago, so I'm hoping it doesn't have lasting damage. I figure all 80s and 90s are likely to have had similar issues at some time.

Would love some feedback on how to make a wise decision on a great deal.

I had a 2001 Class C that had a roof repair sometime in its life. The repair looked acceptable and the price was might so it didn’t bother me much and the roof and floor seemed sound enough and held up fine while I owned it.

But.....the walls on the passenger side and rear were very slightly delaminating when I bought it and over the year or so that I had it the delamination started growing and getting fairly serious.

I think it was fairly stable as it was it was sitting in its covered storage, but when I started using it regularly, the weak points started getting worse.

So that’s something to think about. It might look ok now but it also might not be a durable and a similar coach without the history of water damage.

But as long as you are handy with tools and can fix things it’s probably not a big deal. Lots of folks on this site and rebuilt coaches that were really damaged with good results. Personally Id steer clear but I’m developing a lazy streak and already have plenty of projects.

Got any pics?
