It was with a very heavy heart that I read the news of Dave's passing.

Shelly and I have known Dave and Lori for nearly twenty years and enjoyed each other's company around many a campfire. We all worked together as hosts for the 2009 rally held in Ohio and all of the attendees received a DVD put together by Dave of photo's and memories created at the rally.

Lori, your iRV2 family wants to support you with our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

With your passing, Dave, the planet Earth will never be the same for Chris and me. What began as a casual acquaintance with you and Lori at a campground, turned into a lasting friendship of travel, camping, adventure and visiting numerous wineries, often with you serving as our "designated Driver".

Dave, you were taken from us far too soon. However, we're thankful for the time you were allotted as it provided everyone you encountered a rare opportunity to experience your warmth, generosity, kindness and friendship.

Lori, there are no comforting words we can offer that will ease the pain and suffering for your loss. We only hope that over time, it will become easier for all of us to remember this great gentleman who once roamed this planet, without getting tears in our eyes... which mine are now as I type this.

I didn't know Dave, but I've always appreciated Lori's work and very positive input on this forum and I know Dave must have been a very special guy. My condolences for your loss.

Always sad to hear of someone going too soon.

I am sure he will be immeasurably missed by all that knew him.

Both Lori and myself have lost our partners in life this year. Both Dave and Diane were life long camping minded spouses. I wish Lori, her and Dave's family will save all the memories their adventures took them together in the remembrance of Dave.

The Train

In April 2020 I lost my beloved wife so I share an in common event from last year with Lori & Superslif. I took a great deal of comfort from the following short and I hope that it will bring a sense of comfort to you as well.

THE TRAIN

At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel by our side. As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, strangers and even the love of your life. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone. Others will step down over time and leave a permanent vacuum. Some, however, will go so unnoticed that we don't realize they vacated their seats. This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.

The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.

I wish you a joyful journey for the coming years on your train of life. Reap success, give lots of love and be happy. More importantly, thank God for the journey!

Lastly, I want to thank you for being one of the passengers on my train!

Lori,
Our deepest condolences for your loss of Dave. Lynn and I remember meeting you and Dave at our first rally and how you and Dave were so kind to a pair of newbies.
