Re posters stating OP already has Shaw Direct at home: I believe that the OP has Shaw CABLE in package with internet and phone, NOT Shaw DIRECT, which is Satellite.

we used bell for years in florida up until they changed in 2012 and went to camping world and used the dish system with the auto dish . the system worked good other them dealing with the dish people . they do not want you to stop using them and try to charge you as long as you let them . this year we are using the o t a antenna for free but we only get 6 channels . when we get home we are going to call shaw and get away from bell and use there ( shaw ) system .

Do NOT tell Shaw Direct that you want to use it in the USA. They cannot offer tech support in the US as they to not have a business license to operate a telecommunications company there. I'm sure Shaw is aware that customers use it south of the border but they cannot give you any help or support while you are out of Canada. The paid a very big fine some years ago.
