The nearest I've come to camping in this area is Five Islands, but that's Bay of Fundy.
I usually take the ferry from that area over to PEI.
I shall have to do more in that area. Tell us when you come back.

I think you will need to be more specific about where on the "North East shore". To some that could mean Cape Breton, some it will not mean Cape Breton.
when are you going? I take possession of my house 24 Jul just outside of Halifax. So, my internet will be dropping off line tomorrow. If you stop at a travel infocenter, they have a big book of places to stay and see. Its broken down by region and a good source of info.

Leaving home on or about July 4/06, for about two-three weeks.
Hey Big Kid, congrates on the move. What I meant by north east shore is "Ocean Side", north east of Halifax. Never toured that area, just looking for new things to see. Pretty much done all Cape Breton.

Brad, sure that's not called the south shore, I've forgotten what it's called, but I would never have thought that.
There's a northern group of webcams on this map NS Highways webcams Do you see any of them near Halifax on the ocean side.
Nope, you do not. North East is on same coast as Caribou ferry to PEI!!!!!

If you are near the St. Mary's River be sure to get their smoked salmon....The best I've ever had outside the old Guildwood rum cured euro-smoked that they made at the Guildwood Inn many years ago. We fil the freezer every trip! It is about 80 miles North of Halifax as I recall along the ocean.
We did stay at a KOA just NW of Halifax last fall...very convenient to visit all our friends and relatives in the area.

L.K.,
Technically, I am becoming a maritimer again.
doing the job I do - flying Sea Kings in the Military - I have been presented with this opportunity before.
I have been up your way, as I have some friends in Clarenville. I went up one October to the be the young healthy guy to pack the moose.
Brad,
find the tourist info center, its a monster cache of info. I always grabbed one each year before I touristed out. There isn't a lot on the shoreline North east of Halifax, but its peacefull and enjoyable, whatever you find.
My transition to becoming "from BC" starts next week. My internet and phone get shut down friday 30th.
