Ditto on Nk'Mip (pronounced Inkameep) but it is pretty pricey too. Good stuff however is that it is on the lake, close enough to town that you don't even need a Toad and just a hop skip and a jump from the border, Still close enough to the Wine areas (Nk'Mip even has one of their own) to enjoy some nice wine tours. The area around Osoyoos is pretty much perfect. You might find it hard to get in there for months at a time however. You may need to cruise up and down the valley a piece. Keromeos and area may have some nice options too which are less expensive and if you like fruit stands, you are in the right neighbourhood (although strictly speaking you aren't in the valley). Or you can try the other end (Kelowna). There are places there and in Westbank which are close to shopping and still only an hour away from the border.
