It was too good to be true

Just over the news feeds " US. CDC , is re-thinking the ; no Covid-19 negative test requirement for Canadians entering the USA by land crossings .

CDC and White House , thinking of aligning the requirements with those traveling by air ; more info to follow .

I was looking forward to traveling to SoCA for the winter; starting Nov. 8th.; without having to wait for a negative test result to get into the line up at the border ( and there will be a line up ) at the moment the biggest testing lab in the province is having a union job action , tentative agreement in place ; but with the number of BC Snowbirds chomping at the bit to get going south before the weather gets worse ; lining up for tests and waiting for results will just make thinks that much worse.
Then the Canadian Fed. hasn't relaxed the requirement for testing on return ; so it's going to be a long frustrating winter.

Might have to skip another year. I hope not. I remember once being threatened with a “work slow down”. I said, “Who’s going to notice?”

Go ahead Ben, turn off the computer; and go for a walk out side .

Bet you can't get back and forth, from the house, to your coach and be dry.

Remember , behind every silver lining ; there's a big black cloud !

Did you enjoy today's 5 minutes of sunshine ?

Sigh. Maybe we can visit the Great White North in 2022. We'd really like to!

It's certainly been possible for the past month and a bit.

I've e mailed the US. CDC. Travelers Health Branch . Dr. Cindy Freidman , hoping for confirmation, soon on what test , if any, will be required as proof of negative Covid -19 test ( PCR or quick test ) and what form the proof will need to be ; paper from the lab or a scanned copy sent to a smart phone or pad.

Right now in lower mainland BC, PCR is $199 ; results 48 hours ; with rush results add $100 .

With the border opening on a Monday , I can see LONG lineups all weekend .
