Southwestern Ontario to Vancouver Island

We're going to winter on the south coast of Vancouver Island and are wondering how late in the season we can safely wait before heading west. We travel in a 42 foot diesel pusher motorhome with a jeep tow vehicle and my biggest concern is the mountains. Our plan is to head out October 1st. Thanks.

a friend is thinking of Vancouver Island also instead on the southern US, but he is finding that reservations for the RV parks on the island are filling up quickly.
i guess many snowbirds are making the same plans.

First, welcome to irv2.

If the US border does not open we are also thinking about Vancouver Island this winter instead of Arizona. The island is booking up quickly with many wait lists.

Heading out October 1st should work out fine but you can still run into inclement weather through the mountain passes.

If it’s Vancouver Island for us we will also be heading out by the first part of October.
