Taking Firewood Home from BC Parks
Instead of paying $12 a bundle during out last trip to a BC Park we brought our own firewood.
When the Park Operator saw that we brought our firewood they told us we have to take the unused firewood home with us.
Before leaving we gave our left-over firewood to the people in the campsites around us but I'm wondering if anyone else has been told to take their firewood home?

…. in this day and age of insect infestations destroying our forests--transport of firewood is an absolute "no-no"!!!!….best to buy it where you burn it......

Funny thing. When we crossed into Ontario from Manitoba, there was a place to drop off your firewood at the visitor center.
I suspect they have the same going the other way.
I told my wife we should just do a swap!

Firewood we brought was cut just outside the park.
The firewood they sell is brought in from from 400miles away. I'm sure they inspect evey pcs to make sure there are no bad bugs on it.[emoji2]

We usually carry an excessive amount of 'levelling' wood - kiln dried spruce dimensional lumber. Packs tightly, burns very well, easy to chop into kindling, and no restrictions on transporting or burning. Don't burn pressure treated wood though. :-)

Did you advise the campground office of where you sourced the firewood they were discussing? In all probability, they would think people bring wood in from where they live, and that is an ongoing issue with bug infestation between areas, therefore that’s why they said what they said.

The firewood they sell is from Alberta....700 miles away.
