Has anyone been over the bridge to Detroit from Ontario recently? I was just wondering how the construction was going, are the detours still bad?? Is it worth avoiding? I was considering going across at Sarnia/Port Huron but it will add at least a 1/2 - 3/4 of an hour to our trip. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Jim John the Bushman here I made a car trip was not to bad 40min.tops on bridge but I would take Sarnia with motor home faster seen every compartment opened on a US rig and a fine tooth comb used not to every one maybe but who wants that. The car about 5 before Us next lane was a new car and the custom cop used a small crow bar on the trunk lid to pry the trim open and look in I just thought what a thing to do to a nice paint job and the guy was not easy about it real ram and bang like who cares it is not mine.I cross in early morning and no problems at all Sarnia way.You can take the ferry at the island or Sombra I can't with the rear pusher to heavy and low but a front gasser they will take...John

I went through the construction and detours in Detroit in the dark last time and wasn't sure I wanted to do that again. Sarnia is a bit longer route but a lot less problematic if I take a wrong turn in the dark. Thanks John.

Hi Brad there are several boxes for the TV as We bought the high end units for the USA and Canadian chanels some will work just on the USA chanels as most We get here are USA 2,4,7,and many more.I had discount cards for My boxes as My wife is from the Us and got them from Her family,a box like mine are $50.US You need the box for the old TVs not the HD sets and not for cable or satilite...I use both thats why I got them.Do You have a tower at home if so Feb.15 is when the USA makes the big change to Digital TV and the stations change to the better brighter HD signal and many people will end up buying new Tvs or the box for the old as I have.Canada will still be old hat as We are slow to change as always..lol..just My .02 Bushman.
