Good Winnebago Dealers in and around San Francisco ?

My wife and I are thinking of buying a 2010 Winnebago Aspect.

For a number of reasons we are thinking of buying this out East, and then driving it back to San Francisco, where we live.

But I am worried about getting good local dealer support. The Winnebago site shows only three dealers in our immediate region:

HanselRV - now closed
Paul Everts RV, Fresno, - 170 miles away
Michael Hohl, Carson City - 260 miles away

This doesn't seem to give us a lot of options if these dealers don't want to play nicely. Does anyone own a Winnebago in San Francisco and had it serviced under warranty ? If so, who do you recommend ?

Check with R Mechanic in Livermore or Cherokee RV in Stockton (Steve Castro @ 209 465 1425). You can save on sales tax by not bringing unit back into Ca for 90 days.

I do backflips to avoid Paul Evert. My service experience has been very poor.

La Mesa has a seasonal operation near Sacramento. My experience with them has been good.

Many thanks to Ronnie and Bruce - all three places look like very good contacts (I had already found the reviews of Everts online :-( )

Correct me if I'm wrong.. but LaMesa.. between Davis and Sacto has been closed for some time.. just a huge facility with NOTING there.

Hansel RV in Petaluma still has a lot of RV's on the property.. least they did last time I passed them and looked over.. They always appeared to have a decent service facility.. but never used them.

Lots of changes taking place in these times... sad but true.

In the FWIW department, I had a plumbing problem that made my in warranty coach unusable while visiting Marin Co. Hansel said that they could work me in the next day until they figured out that the unit was not from their dealership. They then told me it would be six weeks for any warranty work.

We are from Missouri, so it's not like we bought from one of their competition.

I don't think that they will be missed.

mtownsmen,

R Mechanic fixed our '08 Sightseer after major crash damage- no need to take it back for follow up work. They fixed about 13 things. F.y.i....they are closed every day between 12 and 1pm for lunch. They are in Livermore- about 30 mins. from S.F.
