Next weekend I'm heading to Denver from Phoenix. I'll be there for a week at a dog show.
I've never ventured north on I-25 from Albuquerque. Could you clue me in what to expect going through the mountains from New Mexico to Colorado? I heard from a buddy that it can be a mean section of road this time of year.

Made it to National Western Complex in Denver yesterday. The road between Albuquerque and Denver was in good shape. The only ice I saw was in the shade under overpasses.
I'm hoping to head back on Tuesday and this time take I-40 back to Arizona. Coming the southern route was 1,028 miles. I think the northern route will cut off a couple hundred miles.
This is about the coldest I ever want to be when using the RV. Both furnaces have been working to keep us warm.

When I was in Denver I noticed a big chunk of ice had formed around the lower access cover for the fridge. I guessed it was leaking from the ice maker line.
I took in to the dealer to see if they could repair it and what they found really made my day...
The previous owner had replaced the heated line with a hose-clamped rubber hose. It froze and dumped water into the electrical box for the fridge. It shorted out all the electronics.
I'm waiting for parts and should have a working fridge again in a week or two.
