Routes to Tucson AZ from Seattle area

I will be heading down to Tucson, AZ in February...I have been thinking on my route options...I have done eastern Washington through Yakima, eastern Oregon through Baker City and Boise then down through Nevada...Thought of just doing the I-5 to LA then hitting the 10, thought about going through Susanville Reno then down, even thought of hitting the Coast Road 1 and 101....don't want to take more than 4 days...DOES ANYONE have ideas for the winter passes...I will be driving a Class C Forrester 2861DS and also towing a patriot 2 wheel dr.

Thanks for any good ideas...I will also be going to AAA for new updated maps and ideas.

Use to work In Susanville .
This time of year I'd be watching weather.com or other weather for 10 day outlook.

I'd stay away from 89-44-395 headed over through Susanville to Reno this time of year in MH.

Also mud slides and closures along 101-1.

If I wanted to go through Reno and down 95 I would drive down to Sacramento then take I-80 East to Reno then over to 95 before I would drive 89 from Mt Shasta or 44/299 out of Redding over to Susanville on into Reno.
But then again this time of year crossing I-80 Donner Summit could call for chain control at any given time too...

If it were April- May I'd most definitely then take 89 out of Mt Shasta then 44 on into Susanville over to Reno!

Like you have posted there are several different routes to go.
It all depends on the weather....

We did the Reno to Shasta drive in October and saw remnants of snow. This does not look like a good route till Spring.

I-5 to Bakerfield, I40 to 95, 95 to I10, I10 to Tucson. That way you stay clear of LA and the warmest route, SNOW, to Tucson. Sitting in Quartzsite now, came down that route most of the way two weeks ago with no problems and services all the way.
