My wife & I are travelling to Solvang, Indio then to Tucson and places east in January and February next year. I'm having difficulty locating places to stay. Is there a web site or publication that sets out the various options? I keep being shunted on to propriatory web sites that take me miles away from where I want to be. This is our first major trip with our 34' class A and so could use all the suggestions and recommendations you can provide.
Thank you
Dave

The closest RV park to Solvang (about 5-6 miles west on Hwy 101) is Flying Flags RV Resort in Buellton, CA. Phone number is (877) 783-5247. They are highly rated by all we know who have stayed there, but we've not stayed there ourselves. Our trailer doesn't go that far south!
We've been to Buellton many times (Anderson's Pea Soup is a must), as well as Solvang. We are very familiar with the area, but travel by car and motel when we go to Southern California.

On the other side of Solvang - East - is Cachuma Lake County Park. Over the hill from Santa Barbara. It's an older park, but adjacent to Cachuma Lake. Which my Dad helped form. Easy drive to Solvang. Store, boat rentals, etc. If you know which road to take, you can drive out to Michael Jacksons' Neverland Ranch.

We highly recommend Beaudry RV Resort in Tucson,AZ. We spend a few days there each spring and fall, and always enjoy it....The fact that there is a Camping World there is a bonus..

Another good spot is Palm Creek in Casa Grande AZ just out side of Phoenix. We'll be there in Jan and Feb this year. http://www.palmcreekgolf.com/

Are you a AAA member or Good Sam member? They can help you plot a trip.
Do you have a Trailer Life Directory, or similar? Good stuff in there.
