My son receive 4 tickets to Ceder Point Park for next year. We though we would make that our June vacation. At first I though we would do 2-3 days at Ceder Point's own onsite RV Campground and the remainder at East Harbor State Park. Looking at their website I see that rates start at $54 a night at Ceder Point. I may end up doing 7 nights at just East Harbor State Park. I know some of the Pond Piggies have been there before. I'm looking for a site that has some shade, not on top of other campers and electric service. I don't need full service or a pull-thru site. But if the good sites are full-service then I'll take one. Any recommendations??? I bet Dave has some pictures of that park....

Jim,
East Harbor does has some decent sites that we stayed at before that are on the edge of the campground. They back up against a field rather than being in the middle of the campground.
My memory's pretty shot about remembering exact site numbers so I logged in to the Ohio system and looked up my old reservation from 2004. Surprisingly the reservation was there but they don't show the site number
Mike or Dave can probably confirm this, but I'm pretty sure we were in area 3 along the edge. I'm pretty sure we were in sites 4 thru 6 but let someone else confirm. What's making me doubt my memory is that those sites are now showing as full service, but I know when we stayed there in 2004, they were electric only. Did they add full service or else my numbers are wrong.

Boy, I'm gonna have to rely on Mike for info as I have nothing on this. I've kept a log book of all the places we've been. I've got an entry for EHSP in Aug 2004 but I neglected to write down the site number. In a file box is usually where I throw the campground maps with our site number on it(the one you get at check in). Couldn't find that either. I looked through my photo albums on the computer & there aren't any for EHSP. I went online to check my account with ODNR & that reservation doesn't even show for 2004. I know we were there! Maybe it was a last minute for us & I phoned it in.
Now, looking on the campground map, for some strange reason, site C20 sounds familiar. I thought, though, Bill, Joe & Mike being backed up to a thinly wooded area & we were in a pull thru site across the street in front of them. C20 is now listed as fhu, so I'm thinking they must've upgraded, because that site wasn't fhu when we were there. I seem to also remember Bill remarking about his family using too much water that wknd. So, I'm thinking, Joe is right that we were in Area 3, but just fuzzy about the specifics. The row Bill, Joe & Mike were in is nice because no one is behind your site.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Maybe Mike can pop in with what he remembers.

Sorry I havent been around the last couple of days. Yes, we stayed in the C3-C5 sites(give or take a site) and Lori was across from us in the pull thru's. Nice to see those are full hookups now. But they are not shaded!!
If you take one of those, I would go for the back in sites and stay away from C6 cause it doesnt drain well.
If you want shade, I would recommend C93-C113 or C202-C211.

Thanx everyone....Going on the East Harbor site map page I noticed many of the sites in section C are listed as "prone to flooding after heavy rain" Between the rows in section C are you on top of the next row when backed into your site? Out of the whole C section I only see 2 reservations for the 3rd week in June so far. So I have a little time.....
