Well, we're on the fence but, as of right now, Dave & I are still planning on going. Checked the forecast & Youngstown looks to be fair w/highs in the low 60's & lows in the 40's. Sounds good to me since we ended last year in WV w/temps in the 30's with wind chills below 20. If I can do that (on a propane tank that was running on fumes!) I can do this. Just hope any snow ya'll got up there will be gone enough to park on the pad.
If we do decide not to go & move our reservation to Sept, since we still haven't been able to unwinterize yet, we'll do that this wknd & Dave can install one of the vent covers we bought over the winter.
L-
P.S. to Joe/Bill - What sites did you get for the 14th? I just looked at the section & all but walk in's are showing green for that wknd.

You guys that can go should be going!
I am so ready to get out of this house I could puke!
I never did change my date yet. Joe called me on Saturday with all of the details, but I ended up getting pretty sick and ended up laying in bed the rest of the day and night.
I will try and change it now.

I'm not sure when it actually starts, but the reservations in September aren't site specific so they don't assign sites.
From what I hear, Mosquito is never full and certainly in September we won't have trouble finding sites. The only reason I reserved at all was just to use the reservation that was already paid for.

Done2.
Yeah, their "busy" season - where reserving is allowed - ends with Labor Day (as do most of the state parks). So it's first come until the busy season starts again.
I also noticed on the website that the price went down $2 per nite since it's the off season but the girl at the Customer Support number couldn't give me a refund. I might try when I get to the check in station at the park. Hey, if I can get $4 back, that'll probably buy me a gallon of gas by then.

I had called Dave and Lori earlier today and thought I would cancel out of the weekend. Just had some other things on the mind and thought I would work on that stuff over the weekend. So Lori cancelled her reservation as noted above. Well, when I got home tonight, I relooked at things and said the *!^#$ with it, I'm going camping!!!! SOOOOO, I called Lori up and we are going. Looks like it will be pretty nice!!

I looked at the forecast this morning and it's looking better. Remember what I said a few days ago that if you didn't go it was going to be the best weekend of the year so far......I'm going to have to rethink my plans for the weekend.....Just can't pass up a dry spring weekend......

Diane has a women's conference at church Sat. which I think will take up most of the day. Even if I wasn't camping this weekend I was going to bring her (I mean the trailer)home to re-load supplies and such...well see......What time Friday would you be getting there??

I got site 46 today. It was only another $8 reservation fee to change back. I'll leave the Sept wknd up in the air. Need to wait to get our letter from OSU letting us know what home game we get this year.
We're planning on leaving Zanesville around 1PM & looks to be about 3hrs for us. Look for us close to supper time.
L-
P.S. Which is the better drive: taking 5 off of 44 to get to 305 or taking 76 off of 44 to 11 to 305? One route is coming in from the south side of the lake & the other, coming in from the north. I guess it depends on where the campground is located - who knows? It's been a while since Dave & I were up there so I don't remember where the campground entrance is.
P.S.S. Looks like you might have a water/electric site, Mike. I see from the campground map there's a "W" next to your site number. How much hose do you have?

I saw that water emblem.
You raise a good question there. I dont know what side the entrance is on. Maybe rt 44 and 5 are better than going over to 11. How bout it Jim, where is the entrance?
Edit: When in doubt, look at the map. I pulled up the park map on their site. The campground entrance in on the south west side north of 305. It looks like going N on 44 to 5 then east into Hoagland Corners and then north on Hoagland-blackstub Rd. The entrance is on the right off of Hoagland-blackstub rd (north of 305 intersection).

Yes, watch out for the State Park sign, it is small. From 305 the entrance is less that a 1/2 mile north.
