Hi all!
Wonderful day today!!! As promised, Walt and I went to Lake Erie State Park and checked it out.
I have posted a review and pictures of the campsites.
After you have a chance to see it, then perhaps you can decide on whether or not you wish to visit.
The sites best to accomode the bigger rigs....Joe, Mike and Bill...would be 63,65,66,68,and 70...HOWEVER...the roads are the narrowest I have ever seen in any of our state parks. Just a word of caution!

One other note...on the way out of the park, you need to go under a curved "topped" overpass that is only 12'10" in height...not sure on how high Bill's rig is.

Hi Candace,
Thanks for checking out the campground and taking all the pictures. I'm in for planning a weekend at the State Park. It'll be nice to get together with you and the family again.
Are you able to schedule a weekend to camp, or is it "spur of the moment" as far as weekends off?

Nice job on the review . We need to know who's up for this July 8-10 weekend. I'm 90% sure I'll go. As soon as I see a few other (Pond Piggies) commit I'll call for a reservation. Just let me know which sites to go for. I always like to try new places. Talking about new places, I was thinking about going to East Harbor SP. either in April or May. I know the group has gone there before. I was wondering if I will need to make a reservation in the off season. If the weather holds up we plan to go to Findley SP. next weekend (April 15-17).

Joe
We are still on "spur of the moment" (except for 2 reservations made for this year).
However, the weekend that Mike mentioned...July 8-10 is not good here...Walt is on "shut-down" and always works including weekends. That is why I have not committed. After the first 2 weeks in July, then he gets the vacation time to play with so we can plan some weekends, even take a Friday off here and there.

Candace,
Shelly and I are for trying Lake Erie SP on a weekend when you think you can make it. Maybe we should look at another date. The summer weekends are filling fast though, I know most of July and August are pretty booked.
I think Bill's rig is due the weekend before Memorial Day, so maybe we can try to plan something for early June. I know the weekend of June 10-12 is open for us, but after that is the rally.

Joe:
That would be nice! I wish I could give you a definate date though.
I am going to be honest here...I didnt want to post my personal feelings regarding Lake Erie State Park, as I wanted you all to decide for yourselves...but we did not get that "warm, fuzzy" feeling about the park. WE would not choose to camp there. If you want our personal impressions, then feel free to email me.
