The "Louisiana Rally" at Bayou Wilderness is canceled.

I spoke with Ed Gray today about the rally. He called me and asked that I make this post as he is "On the road" with no internet connection. The rally is being canceled due to fallout from the two Hurricanes.

This saddedned Ed a great deal. I say this from the tone of voice he used. I could tell it hurt him to do this.

Ed took a "Hard Hit" from Katrina at his home. It looks like the boat he kept at Venice, LA is going to be lost as well.

He also told me that the campground is still full. The campground folks seemed relieved that the spaces we would require were "Freed up".

After things "Settle Down" around here we WILL have a "Louisiana Rally".

I personally want to thank Ed for "Taking the bull by the horns" with the attemt to hold the first IRV2.COM rally for the area.

I also want to thank ALL OF YOU as well. Yall were going to make the Tow/Drive over from all over creation to help make it a sucess.

THANKS YALL!!!!!!!!!

Don -

All the Texas Boomers extend our sincerest appreciation to Ed Gray for all his hard work on getting the LARally going. I know it broke his heart to cancel, but in light of all the devastation Louisana has received lately with two major hurricanes, we all pretty much figured that it would have to be postponed until a better time.

Please let Ed know our thoughts and prayers are with him during this time of rebuilding. Please also tell him if he needs anything to call and you know we'll be there!

Sandy

TO DON and SANDY and ALL iRV2 members: Yes, it did hurt to cancel the LARALLY. But after many uncertain days, and after seeing so many express concerns about being able to attend, I thought it better to cancel. We will try again, and I thank all who worked with me try and make this happen. Don, Walt, Bill, and many others were willing to contribute and made great efforts, but Katrina and Rita were just too powerful. I'm sorry to disappoint those who had planned to attend, and promise totry again when things return to "normal". Best wishes to all who are affected by these natural disasters. ED

O.K., I've been waiting to hear something, anything.
Does anyone know if and when a Louisiana Rally will be held? I know there are many LA members on iRV2 and I'm sure others are wondering the same.

Thanks.
Mike

MILZAT: Thanks for your question. Personally, I would love to see a gathering of iRV2.com folks take place here in La. I KNOW who can count on getting some Texas Boomers to come over and join in the fun, too.

DOES ANYONE WANT TO PICK UP THIS BALL AND RUN WITH IT??

MY schedule is too full through October, for me to attempt planning such an event. But I'll gladly help any way I can IF someone else takes the lead. ED

Ok, I may be sticking the pink chicken neck out, but what about a rally in Kinder LA, the Grand C.... shata Casino. I know they have nice RV park and meeting room, golf close by. I do not know prices etc, but I know Bob loves to go.

If you would like ... hem / haw / I may could contact them to see if they do rallies.

Let me know, I would love to help out the LA group. (if Don brings his famous pot of food) As if I can really eat anymore.

Well,
Looks like we've been told, or lack of interest, not sure which.
But after 5 days---------

We tried tried to pick up the ball for you as asked Ed, but feel need to say "see y'all later, do to no comments or interest", think we're done here, on a LA. rally.

(Course I'm am speaking for my wife, not good, and you know what kind of trouble that can bring-------)

Best to all,
