The first ever rally in Louisiana for iRV2.com members and guests is scheduled for November 4,5,& 6, 2005 at Bayou Wilderness RV Resort http://www.bayouwildernessrvresort.com/
just north of Lafayette, La.
This event is especially intended to provide members from Louisiana an opportunity to meet each other, and get to know other members from neighboring states. We have had members from Texas, Oklahoma, and Mississippi express interest in joining the festivities, and ALL are welcome!!
The rally will begin Friday night at 7:00 pm over a huge pot of Jambalaya provided by Innovative RV and cooked by the infamous Don Fauntleroy (W5IT). The pot luck dinner/social Saturday night, and 30 amp site rates under $20.00 per night make this rally an affordable way we can get together in spite of fuel costs. The "central" location was chosen to attract members from all over Louisiana, and to provide easy access for our friends from Texas and points beyond.
Please mark your calendars and plan to join us as we pass a good time, enjoying the cooler temperatures of November in the heart of Cajun Country! You can sign up for this rally by replying to this thread, and please watch for more postings as our plans are expanded and finalized. Here is a milage chart to help you see how short your trip will be:

Now that is the kind of spirit which will insure a sucessful rally! THANK YOU.
There is no need to send money now. Those members who indicate they plan to attend will receive ALL the details when they become available. FELA is sorta like Santa- we're making a list and will check it twice. ED

Dang that Steve Wilson beat me to the draw and was the 1st Texas Boomer to sign up. I'll bet he would "go all in" in Texas Holdem on the come and beat my pocket queens too.
Count Pat and I in Ed and sign us up.
Whoopeee !

Don and others, FYI : The contract for the CG is still in the mail to me, but I was told that attendees could get the rally rate for one day prior to, and one day after, the rally dates. Anyone wishing to arrive early or stay later should ask for the rally rate. Longer stays would be charged at their normal Good Sam rates. Please don't send $$ at this time. ED

Well, I mileaged it out and found that it is 968 miles from my place to the campground! But a huge pot of Jambalaya is one thing that can get me to make the drive!! So, as of now, count me and the High Command (wife) as attending.
Do we make our reservations with the CG now or stand-by for further instructions? We would come in on the 3rd and depart on the 7th .

Terry I think my jambalaya is pretty good but DAAAANNNGGGG! Just shy of 1000 miles????
But however far folks drive it will be good to see everyone.
Maybe it will be cool enough to actually have a FIRE side chat.
