After much discussion, it was decided not to have any local gatherings in the Houston area in August or September. It's just too hot to camp, and it seems silly to pay for a spot to sit inside our rig near the A/C. Hopefully I will be wrong, but remember last year with the hurricanes in September. I learned my lesson last year, so I'm not setting anything in Sept.

Gwen at Rayford Crossing told me she wants to do a chili cookoff in October, but she said she would keep me informed about it.

If anyone is up for it, we could just all get together somewhere for margaritas and a meal in August?

Well it may be too hot in Houston, but the Hill Country Group is meeting at Lake Medina August 4 to 5.

We have air conditioning

The Lake is a little low, the pool may be warmer than normal, but the margies are always good and the company the best.

If you can get away and want to come, we have plenty of room, under the shade trees or the shaded patio with ceiling fans or even in the rally hall.

What happened to the margaritas and a meal for August? Any news on an October GTG? Rayford Crossing? Renaissance Festival at Haven's Landing? I miss ya'll and can't make it to the Labor Day campout.

How about meeting somewhere next weekend, on Saturday the 26th? Anyone got any ideas about where we could all get into?

One of Stella's favorite mexican restaurants is the Adobe. There is one on I-45 north of Rayford Sawdust that I know of.

Anyone else with a suggestion?

Guess we have to take a pass on this one, that area is way past my designated drivers range and also factor in that four letter word (work) leaves us on the sidelines. Sounds like fun tho, ya'll enjoy.

I am trying to reply but not sure I am doing this right. This is my 3rd try - don't know where the others went.

Cafe Adobe? I am up for that one. I may have a meeting on the afternoon of the 26th and don't know for sure what time/if I could make it but I will keep you posted.

Jay,

Count us in for it! Is Adobe the Mexican Place that we went to when we met you and Stella to see the Landmark? It doesn't matter, as long as it's food!!!

In fact, if it's a go, I'll invite our newest Texas Boomers...Allen and Randee Saber...to join us there. They live in the 1960/Champions Forest area.

Got a few others that we could contact as it's been awhile!

Sandy

Madame B,
Yep, that's the place all right. It's at 18310 I-45 S. in Shenandoah. South bound side of I-45. What time is good for everyone? 5:30? 6:00? I'm open to suggestions.....Just FYI, they advertise to having the best margaritas in Houston.

Well, it looks like we will have to postpone the Adobe until Sunday. Kim is having a candle party, and Stella wants to go to that, so I guess we'll have to try for Sunday?

Sunday 8/27 sounds good to me. I have to work but hope to be able to make it there by 5:00.
