Stormrider54,

We have been to rallies all over Louisiana. I think it depends on how far the majority of folks live from the site and how large the rigs are. Example, Fairview Riverside Park in Madisonville is a beautiful park, but the majority of the sites are marginal at best or too small for our coach. We actually got damage to the front of our coach from another RV because the only site available for us was too small and we stuck out a bit on a narrow road. Here are some parks we have attended close by.

Bogue Chitto State Park in Franklinton is a nice RV park, we often visit.
Paragon Casino in Marksville has a great location near Alexandria.
Patterson Civic Center in Patterson has a large RV Park that we go to quite often with one of our
other clubs. Downside no sewer hook ups.

That's just a few parks to consider. I'm sure once we get more folks involved, many other parks will be mentioned.

We just purchased a Class A Safari, also in Louisiana and would enjoy meeting up with members. We are located just West of Baton Rouge.

Arg, still in Kalifornia. Guess I'll just have to have some mud bugs shipped to keep me going. Hey, it is Sunday. Hmmm. Gumbo? Jambalaya? Sure wish I had some gator, frog legs, or ??? Suggestions please! Shrimp of course but anyone can get those.

CajunJeff,

No, we haven't been to Chicot yet, but you're right to be concerned about the length of the sites. We were placed in a site that was too small for us (we're actually 39.5 feet) at Fairview Riverside State Park. Someone brushed the front of our coach, scratched the fniish and ripped the bra. Not fun.

All,

We had our primarily club meeting back in March. The name of the club was decided along with some general rules. Unfortunately Stormrider54, who started this, was supposed to write up the minutes and instructions for joining the club. We haven't been able to get in contact with Stormrider54 since 3/31/2013. I don't know if something has happened to him or what. If any of you has information about Stormrider54, please let me know. I don't want to jump in here without knowing what may have happened.

Chico State Park

Hi "Cajun Jeff" - Replying to your question about Chico State Park - yes, your 38 ft unit will fit in sites there.....However, there is a very nice parish park that is ran by the police jury about 20 minutes from Chico State Park named "Crooked Creek Recreation Park". We prefer this park instead Chico State Park - Crooked Creek does not have a website however if you are interested, I can forward the phone number and scan a brochure and email it to you or anyone else that is interested in the park!

PDGotro, thanks I will check it out. I. Noticed that there is no wifi or phone service. That can be great at times.

Storm Rider,

I tried a couple times to get a "LA gathering" for members here a couple times. It never panned out, or had much interest from LA members. We came REAL close to having one once over in Lafayette. There was going to be more of my friends the "Texas Boomers" attending than LA members. Everything was looking GOOD until we had one of those pesky hurricanes a bit before the rally. It tore up the campground we were gonna meet at so it got postponed. After that I never really got the hankering to set it up again.

These days (Last several years) I'm more of a "Lone wolf" or "Loner" when it comes to hookin up and heading out with the camper. Tend to just go hang out somewhere by myself (Well me and my wife) and chill..........................

Hope yall have better luck than I dod settin up a LA rally......
