Despite the wonderful weather we have had the last few days here in the South, we are getting anxious to get out for a while. Thinking of doing a swing over toward the coast, down into Florida towards Orlando or that area then back west to Alabama then back to N Georgia.
First stop will probably be Jekyll Island, then down to St. Mary's area. I am told Jetty Park near Cape Canaveral is nice but have never been there. After that I have no clue.
Help me out here guys and give me some nice CG or state parks on or near this route. I am told we might have trouble with finding space in Florida due to Snowbird residency.
Any ideas?

I cant help you with any CG's in that area, but I sure wish I was going with you!!! I'm stuck here in North Alabama.
CABIN FEVER is the decorating theme we have in our motorhome. The couch has a cabin fever upholstery, and one of the overhead cabinets we had punched tin with the words "Cabin Fever" in it.
Have a great time!!!

Hi Doc,we feel the same way, this great weather can't last much longer and we feel the need to head further south. We are thinking about staying a couple of days back at Hunting Island before heading down to the St Augustine or Flagler area, then to visit friends in central Fl.then maybe the west coast. We are hoping the "snow birds" are further south than we are planning to go! We stayed at Beverlys camptown in Flager last Jan.but after getting there we realized the rates had gone up about $15 a day from the year before so won't stay there again! We had friends that stayed at Bulow in Flager,it wasn't bad and very few campers in Jan. last year.So we are also interested in responses you get to this post.

If you go through South Ga around Cordelle you might want to check out the Veterans Memorial State Park, about 10 miles west of Cordelle and 100 miles up I-75 from FL.

I would suggest for the return trip, Reed Bingham St park , near Valdosta, off 75 at exit 39 west on 37 to the park. Food at exit not recommended.

Doc,
If you get down to Orlando, you might want to try Tropical Plams: http://www.tropicalpalms.com/lodging_profile.asp We stayed their and it was nice, alot to do very close to the campground....
