Carol and Steve,
We're presently camped in Lexington, VA and will be moving on to Gettysburg next week before arriving at the National. We started out on June 1, so not a part of the convoy. Think the only other Florida Boomers left who are able to attend are Rick and Cheryl, so check with them.
See you in Lancaster!

One thing that keeps spoooking me is driving over hallowed ground on the Emmitsburg Road. The old saving there is that the road was here before the battle but it still sticks in my mind. This is the site of Picket's Charge.

Friends of ours up near Lancaster have reported temps in the high 90's with 70+ humidity. They are sweltering?. Very unusual for that area.

It has cooled down considerably this week. Here in VT we went from highs in the high 80s to highs in the high 60s. The weather for the Lancaster, PA area next week looks great. Partly cloudy with highs around 80 and lows in the 60s (good sleeping weather). I'm glad the National Rally seemed to miss the heat wave.

We're in Gettysburg and it is beautiful. Larry had to contend with some wind on our way up from VA yesterday as the cold front pushed through, but it was 60 when we woke up this morning and might make it to the mid-70's today. We have the air conditioners turned off and the windows open. This is SO great!
Stayed outside until 11 talking with our neighbors and enjoying their campfire last night. And, they still have fireflies in this part of the country. I had forgotten how they twinkle. Whatever happened to the ones in Florida? Larry says they had them in Lakeland when he was a child.

I was in Florida last month, and our hot is still cooler than your hot LOL! In any case, the weather has taken a beautiful turn and it's as nice out as it could ever be! Can't wait to see those of you who are coming up to our neck of the woods!
