Assuming you have a SC DL already you need to take a computer based knowledge test. Study the SC drivers license manual (
not the CDL Manual )pages 100-130. Those pages are RV specific.
The test will also have basic question from a regular DL test. If you own a Class A do not skip over the sections about trailers and hitches.
You do not need to schedule the knowledge test just go to any DMV to take it.
It is an easy test and after words they will issue a learners permit.
You then have 1 year to take and pass the practical and road tests both of which are described in the manual.
The practical and road tests need to be scheduled in advanced and are only given at select DMV offices (see DMV website)
You will need a properly licensed driver with you when you arrive to take the road test.
Some examiners ask to see them, some don't.
