We recently bought our first MH and just got it registered in VA and I need to get it inspected. I called 5 RV service facilities and NONE of them perform state inspections. Can I take it to any state inspection facility or do I have to find one that does trucks and RVs specifically? Thanks.

What part of VA are you in. You should be able to Google a location or find one on Yelp and obtain a list you can call on.

Finding inspection facilities isn't the problem. Finding ones that inspect RV's is. I've called 5 RV service facilities and none perform state inspections.

I take mine to Ted Britt Ford in Chantilly, VA. This is where the place I bought my MH serviced it and it is close to where I work. They did my 6/2012 inspection. Gee, it's almost time for my 6/2013 inspection.
Reines RV (Manassas) does them and I would suspect that many RV Dealers who also service RV's would do them also.
My question is what are they typically focusing on with the inspection. Assume it is like a car inspection and the brakes are key. The problem is, in my opinion, it is a major conflict of interest for a these motorhome/coach service places to do state inspections. They can generate business for themselves by failing you for something that may be or may not be truly a problem. I used to live in Colorado where inspections were done by state facilities who obviously do not do any servicing. They don't care where you take your rig to get repaired, and therefore you have a higher degree of confidence that they are not sticking it to you.

An update. I called to make an appointment to get my rig inspected and found out that Britt farms out their inspections. So I am taking my RV here next week:
