We lost just about the whole season of camping this year. We got out for a weekend (Normandy Farms) where we met some Nor'Easters in the spring and one in Ausust but, that was all.
I turned 40 in April and was diagnosed with prostate cancer shortly after. On July 7th, I went into the hospitla for a radical prostatectomy which had to be aborted for fear of damaging nearby organs. I spent nearly 8 weeks recovering from that. Then at the very end of August, I was operated on to remove a kidney stone. I was operated on for 3.5 hours and they still couldn't get the thing out. They operated again the next day and were able to get it after several hours. It was half an inch. I heard that it was one of the top 5 largest in the history of Mass General. I spent another 5 nights there following surgery. I got out on Labor Day and returned the following Monday to have brachytherapy which is a process where they put radioactive seeds in your prostate in the hopes of killing the cancer.
I am just now starting to feel better, though still not good.
We had to cancel everything all summer long. I had hopes of being able to get to Turning Stone but, I still can't sit for more than a few minutes at a time.
I'm sure looking forward to next season!!!

Boy,if you gotta make the record books,I guess a kidney stone is better than nothing. I hope the seeds do thier job fast and you make a speedy recovery. You missed one season, make up for it next year. If you come to the spring rally the first beer is on me.!!
