The 18 Season fast approaching !!

Hi guys an gals ! Sooo my family an I are about to embark on our second full season with our fifth wheel. We are super excited and have been making it through the winter blues with many conversations about camping this spring !!

Being still real new to the scene I thought I’d come on for some advice. We’ve come to the conclusion your normal RV Park, which to us is a parking lot with hookups isn’t quite the scene we are looking for. Not that there’s anything wrong with them, we stayed at a bunch last year blindly not knowing what we were in for. Some were real nice and had more than enough accommodations, some not so much.

So anyway I’ve come asking about more private RV sites. Places with room around you, trees, wilderness and things to do like hike, fish, site see, rock climb etc etc. We don’t 100% need hookups (electric preferred just to cut out the noise from the generator) but they are nice. Allegheny State Park in western NY is nice as well as Letchworth State Park. Both have full hook up, tons of space between spots with lots of trees for privacy and lots to do and see. But we’ve been camping there well before we even owned the 5’er.

So any and all recommendations are welcome. Oh I should mention we live in western New York State on Lake Erie. I’d like to keep the travel to a day maybe two at most. So please share some of your favorite locations and thanks in advance !!

We love the Lake George region of NY. We usually stay at the Lake George RV Park. Lake George RV Park: Lake George New York RV Camping At Its Finest.

The White Mountain area of New Hampshire is amazing. NH Family Camping at Mountain Lake Campground RV Park & Log Cabins We've stayed here twice.

Coastal Maine very scenic and lots to do.
Booth Bay, beautiful down east village. Shore Hills Campground, Boothbay, Maine - in Maine's beautiful mid-coast region
Bar Harbor. Great town and visits to Acadia NP. Several RV parks here.

Good luck with the plans. Let us know if you need more ideas,

Happy Trails!!!

A problem might be the size of the 5th wheel for state parks
