Unhealthy Air conditions Northern NY State

If anyone is planning to travel to northern NY State in the next few days I would suggest you change your plans for a few days. I live 30 miles south of the "Thousand Islands" region and we are under an "Air Quality Alert". The sky is an orange color, there are small particulates in the air and the smell is terrible.
I have everything parked inside I have room for to keep it clean.
Here is a news report from a local source:
https://www.syracuse.com/weather/202...ires-rage.html
Hopefully this gets under control soon.
Lynn

It has to be me. When we were out west in 2020 there was wildfires all over the Rockies. Now that we just confirmed our 4 weeks in July at Swan Bay RV Resort. The same problem!

I'm trying my best to. Knowing it is raining ash or whatever they call those particles I decided to move my coach from my driveway into my pole barn. I wore one of my Covid masks when I went to the barn, moved two of my tractors to make room and pulled my coach into the barn and closed the doors. The mask certainly did help. A few minutes later I saw the mailman come so I put the mask back on to go out to the mailbox. I couldn't believe the odor the mask picked up in the short time I had had it on previously. No doubt the mask is a good idea. Just when I thought wearing a mask was all over with!

I can keep you up to date. My son lives next door to me but he works in Alex Bay everyday. I'll see him tonight and ask him how it was. A friend of mine lives further north on 37 and he said it wasn't bad there this morning. A small change in wind direction might change that though.

The alert is until midnight tonight , so far.

I'm in central NY, just north of Syracuse, and the moon was orange last night and the sun is orange now. That and the air stinks.

They are predicting now tomorrow will be worse than today. I feel like a prisoner in my own house.
